From the fabulous Sausalito Art Festival, comes this commission for a stunning large scale triptych ! It's an original photograph from the Golden Grasses series printed over silver metallic leaf on cradled wood panel flooded with resin. The full size artwork will measure 36x96 inches and be installed in the dazzling new home of a prominent Bay Area architect and his lovely wife.

New Commission accepted yesterday!

New artwork commissioned yesterday! This is my illustration of a proposed large scale triptych for Nagui and Diana's home in Bel Air, CA. Nagui emailed me a photo of their living room wall with dimension. I created this triptych idea from a photo of one of my artworks they saw and loved at last month's Affaire In The Gardens Art Festival in Beverly Hills, CA.
Yesterday I visited them at home to finalize size - overall dimensions will be 54.5 x 84 inches and we agreed the colors of their new artwork will be brighter and bit more red - I will send samples for their approval!
I'll also be placing three 20 x 20 inch Golden Grasses series artworks above the bed in their master suite!

Test for Large Scale Commission

20x20 inches, inkjet print on candy apple red metallic acrylic on canvas, artists medium to build radiant texture, gold and bronze metallic acrylic brushed in ground, gloss varnish, black gessoed floater frame.
This is the first small scale test leading to a large scale (58x58 inch + frame) commissioned artwork for Norma James' desert home in The Estancias, La Quinta, CA.
It is also my entry in the Palm Springs Art Museum Artist Council ACE juried exhibition (delivered today).
Next two tests will add green leaf to apple and a dark bronze and flat  black ground respectively.

New Triptych FedExed Yesterday!

FedExed this yesterday to the Law Offices of Eden Rose Brown in Salem, Oregon. The Golden Oasis Image #8225 triptych is a close up abstract photograph of palm frond fibers captured at Thousand Palms Oasis near my studio in the So. Cal. desert. It's an ink jet print over golden metallic acrylic on canvas, wrapped and varnished. The large-scale artwork measures 38 x 86 inches. It was commissioned by attorney Eden Rose Brown after she saw my art at the Salem Art Fair in 2009 and 2010. Can't wait to hear how she likes it!

New Art Installed

We installed this big triptych at the desert home of Jim and Jeanie Morris in The Lakes last Thursday. I like how the greens compliment the reds of their new furniture.

Photographic inkjet on clear emulsion over gold metallic acrylic on canvas, floater framed, 11 x 14 inches. I just love the simplicity and bare spaciousness of this winter image. The warm golden under painting starkly contrast to the chilly subject yet makes a surprisingly good fit!

This stunning large Weeds Messenger series artwork was installed last month in a beautiful home in La Quinta, CA! It is photographic inkjet print on canvas with five coats of a special clear acrylic polymer to which I added small amounts of a sparkling metallic pigment. This extraordinarily dimensional artwork measures 38 x 86.5 inches plus the black gessoed floater frame.
